COVID-19 related programming changes

Dear Families,

We have been closely monitoring the news of COVID-19.  With the health and safety of your family in mind, we are temporarily closed for on-site programming. We will coordinate programming, progress evaluations, and initial evaluations with clients through a remote Zoom platform. Clients will be contacted individually to coordinate scheduling.

What you need to know:

1) Zoom sessions require the presence of a parent or caregiver to coordinate the on-line sessions.  This person will essentially be the “hands” of the staff member who will demonstrate design constructions and guide the client’s visual thinking. All other aspects of the session will be staff driven and client informed, according to our established frameworks.

2) As with our on-site programming, Zoom sessions require a minimum of twice weekly attendance to support client progress in each area of focus.

3) Zoom sessions require individuals to have ILC materials at home. These materials will be made available to clients and distributed in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions.

4) Zoom sessions are scheduled with your current developmental learning specialist. Due to the on-line format, Zoom sessions may enable more flexibility in terms of timing.

5)  We are hopeful that this measure will afford us all increased safety and relatively more peace of mind while continuing to support the growth and development of your child learning. We look forward to resuming our on-site programming once risk factors for COVID-19 have been alleviated.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility as we work together to support your family and our community.

Warmly,
The ILC team
